Can Playstation 3 games play in a Playstation 2?

I want tony hawk the ride for christmas but i only see it for xbox and playstation 3 do they have it for playstation 2?

PS3 games use Bluray Disc technology and make use of the increased hardware of the Playstation 3. There are some games from this generation (PS3, Xbox 360, Wii) that will be RELEASED in the Playstation 2 format, but those will be separate discs. Unfortunately Tony Hawk Ride will only be released for the PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii. I suggest either buying a PS3 (it will play Bluray movies too!) or getting an old Tony Hawk game for the PS2 to satisfy those cravings.
PS3 games cannot play on a PS2. Some games are still made for PS2, but not a whole lot.

no, as the ps3 was developped after the ps2, i doubt they work together. You can play ps2 games on a ps3, but not vice versa, i suggest you get a ps3 or xbox
