Will Playstation 2 games work in a Playstation 3 console?
I am considering on purchasing a Playstation 3 console for my children. They currently have the Playstation 2 console and games. Will the games for the Playstation 2 work in the Playstation 3? I would hate to have to replace all of their current games. Thank you in advance for your answers.

i remember reading somewhere that you can either download ps1 games from the Playstation store or directly from the original disc. I have the disc but can’t figure it out.

Is there a way to play playstation 2 games on a ps3?
Does anyone know of a program or a work around that will make it possible for ps2 games to be played on a ps3? We have ps2 software downloaded from the playstation network but we tried to play a ps2 game on it but got the "not compatible" message. Is there any way to tell what ps2 games are compatible and which ones are not? CECHLO1 is the ps3 model number and it has 80 gig space, version 3.3.

Will the Playstation 3 Slim be able to play playstation 2 games?
When the first playstation 3 consoles came out, they were able to play most if not all ps2 and ps1 games. But due to costs, they cut back and the current models on the market can not. The only way to do it is to get it mod which I don’t really want to risk. I’m just wondering if anyone knows if the ps3 slim that’s coming out at the end of the year will be able to play ps2 games again. Thanks!

Why are Super Nintendo and regular Nintendo game still more expensive than Playstation One games?
When I look to buy/sell games, it always seems that I can get or get basically nothing for the Playstation One games. But the 8-bit and 16-bit games are still mostly over a game.

Facebook has a really neat application that allows you to play the original Nintendo games on your computer, you can play them through the app, or download them for a small fee, does PlayStation do this?
