Do Playstation games work on the Playstation 2 game system?

I’m thinking of buying Frogger for playstation for my kids. But my kids don’t have a playstation, they have a playstation 2. will the playstation games work on the playstation 2?

yes that will work; the only place PS and PS2 games wont work is in the "cheap" version of PS3.

yes. all versions of the PS2 (and there are a few) will play PS1 games. you just need to put the game in and it will start just like any PS2 game. if you don’t have a PS1 memory card, GET ONE. you will not be able to save your gameplay of a PS1 game if you only have a PS2 memory card. you MUST have a PS1 memory card in order to save your game. good luck finding one though. your best bet it eBay or Amzon as no chain retail stores (that includes GameStop/EB Games) sell PS1 games or accessories.
