Does any PlayStation game console play all 7 years of Harry Potter games?

My son has really gotten into the Harry Potter PlayStation games this year. I want to buy him a PlayStation game console and a couple of the game this year for Christmas, but I am seeing that the first years are made for PS1 or PS2 while the later years are made for PS3. Is there any way I can buy only one games console and be able to play them al?
I know the older versions of playstation 3 plays playstation 1 and 2 games as well. That’s what I want for Christmas, you could ask around, but i’m not sure how easy it will be to find.
