How do i play psp slim games from memory card?

i have psp slim and i want some cool games and i cant find em on shops. and then i found some on internet and now i download them and put them in psp/games but when i try to run it it says the data is corrupted .. 
so how do i play psp games from memory card on psp slim ?
you did not do anything wrong. there must be something wrong with the game. I have some games on my memory stick that I downloaded from PSP shop. I put them in folder ‘games’. Once I had this message,but that was when I put avi movies on my psp (but psp doesn’t play avi movies). So there is something wrong with the game.
