No. Newer models will not play PS2 games. Full stop.
Your PS3 needs the official Emulator installed for it to be able to play PS2 games, so there’s no Emulator you can install yourself.
If you want to play PS2 games, you may need to get a PS2.
I don’t think it can work as they took out the emotion chip so it could play PS2 games. The newer PS3′s have a lot of features taken away from it like Media Cards and two USB ports. Just wish if they went this route the least they could of done was lowered the price.
What people tell me when it comes to PS2 on PS3 is to just buy a PS2 console I do have one but I kind of hate having to switch between the two systems when I just wish I could put my PS2 game in my PS3 and play like that so it’s just on one console.
Nope. Sony would rather you buy a PS2 since they’re losing money.
