My Sims for the Wii; What does "Pre-played" mean?

Oh no! I’m planning on buying my friend My Sims for the Wii for her birthday. BUT, it was almost on Amazon. I found it on Gamerang for almost , but it says "Pre-played."
Does that mean that it’s being sold before it’s being played OR that it’s been played before??
Having played next to no video games in my life, I really want to be sure that I’m ordering my friend the correct game.
The price for this particular product (on Gamerang) is fantastic, but it being played before doesn’t sound all that inviting.
Thank you so much!
Pre-played just means that someone else has played the game before. It’s basically used. How heavily used it is, I’m not that sure – however, I doubt Gamerang would resell heavily-used or scratched disks. It wouldn’t be good for business. Therefore, I’m sure the game is just fine. It may be missing the booklet, or it may not be in mint-condition or in the original case. I’ve gotten scratched pre-played games before, but considering how many I have bought, the percentage was very low, and the store was good about exchanging it for a working game.
Personally, I don’t mind receiving pre-played games for Christmas or birthdays. I think that most brand new games are over-priced anyway. A game is a game is a game, and since systems no longer use cartridges, there isn’t the eerie experience of finding someone else’s strange save-game (and Sims save-games can be strange, indeed) on your newly-bought game cartridge.
Some people think that giving people pre-played games as gifts is tacky. Other people, like myself, don’t care. Your best bet is to gauge your friend’s attitude on pre-played games and make your own decision.
it means someone else has played the game "used"
It means that the very disc you are buying has been used before in another Wii console.
It’s second-hand (ie: used). That means there might be scratches on the disk or dirt or even an unplayable game. Sometimes, preplayed games will not have the original cover, or instruction manual. However, if you’re buying it from a reputable store, they will probably have an exchange policy.
It just means the game has been played before. Normally it is nothing to worry about but check for a return policy because once you get it you may want to check for scratches from the previous owner. About 90% of the time you should be fine – I’ve never had any problems- but it is for a birthday so you may wanna make sure. (Unless of course it comes sealed in wrap again!)
it might mean its used.
it means that its been used before. I really feel sorry for you in the uk we have a site where games are cheap and free delivery
