I’m doing a project on the history of video games. I would like to know when all consoles and handheld out right now came out and what video game company manufactured them. I would like the link to the site or sites where you got the information from. I would also want to know how the graphics progressed from the first video game to now.
i mainly want information on the video game systems in the united states. like, the name of the system, year it came out, and the compony the owns the system.

Will the Playstation 3 Slim be able to play playstation 2 games?

When the first playstation 3 consoles came out, they were able to play most if not all ps2 and ps1 games. But due to costs, they cut back and the current models on the market can not. The only way to do it is to get it mod which I don’t really want to risk. I’m just wondering if anyone knows if the ps3 slim that’s coming out at the end of the year will be able to play ps2 games again. Thanks!

Can you play original DS games on the DSI and the DS lite?

I have a 4 year old who is a whiz with anything electronic and a 9 year old who wants his own personal gaming system. I don’t think either of them need a camera or wifi. If I buy the original DS or DS lite can any of the DS, DSi and DS lite games be used on any of the consoles’s? In other words can the DSI games be used on the DS and can the DS games be used on the DSi?

I owe my little brother a new gaming console, because I am taking our wii with me to college, but I don’t want to get him one that is going to be old news soon.

He wants a PS3, so I think I’ll get him that (and just take all the wii games with me, ha ha)
