Are Gameboy Advance games worth saving?

I have quite a lot of old Gameboy Advance games, such as Pokemon, and Golden Sun. I have posted an ad up on craigslist, and there seems to be A LOT of people wanting these, and not the system. Are they worth more than I expect? Or should I get rid of them while I can? Thanks!

I really want a certain Nintendo DS game, but I unfortunately don’t have 0 dollars to spend right now. I do have a Gameboy SP and Advance lying around, though. I know that GameBoy advance games can be played on the DS, but can DS games be played on the GameBoys?
And should I even bother buying the DS, if there’s a newer model coming out soon? I would appreciate it if tech-savvy people would help me with this.

As I remember the l or r thing was for Gameboy games played on gameboy advance. Not Gameboy Advance games on DS. Gameboy advance games need the l and r buttons for gameplay.
