why cant i download call of duty modern warfare 2 to my pc?

I recently bought Call of duty modern Warfare 2 for my pc. When i put it into the computer, make screen goes blue and a message appears that says something about windows having to shutdown because a problem has occured. Please help if you have any ideas.
well usually it says you have an hardware problem…
it can be almost anything in the hardware so you really should check it out.
