will the 8th generation of video game consoles be out soon?

I’m getting a ps3 for christmas and I’ve been hearing that the next generation of consoles will be coming out in 2010. Is that true? Because I don’t want to get a new console if they are just going to make a new one next year. How long will they be making ps3 games for? Please help!
don’t worry bro… the 8th gen wont come out until at least 2014 or later. microsoft said there next console wont be until at least 2012 at the earliest and as for nintendo they most likely will be making a wii 2 planned to be realeased 2011 or 2012 [but the wii sucks so who cares]. as for your playstation 3 you shouldn’t worry because they won’t even think of making the ps4 until 2015 or 2016 so you have some time.
dont worry about it, im getting a ps3 for Christmas as well, and im prity confident it will be a while before they stop making ps3 games

The only "new" is DSi XL. Nothing else, the DSi XL is just a bigger screen and you could posiibly play GBA games. No PS4, cause Blu-Ray is the future for Sony!
